Q1. How do YOUBIKE influence the daily life of the village?
A:YOUBIKE is a very convenience vehicle for Taipei citizen, but I think it is not suitable for the village. Because of the heavy traffic, students may be dangerous.
Q 2. How is the comments villagers held about YOUBIKE?
A:Negative, because of the high probability of car accident.
Q 3. What are the complaints from villagers about?
A:There are few complaints from villagers.
Q 4. what do you think about the traffic problems caused by YOUBIKE?
A:Owing to the lack of planning of bicycle lane, youbike riders were riding on the sidewalk. The bike rider may be easily bumped into pedestrians.
Q 5. Based on the happened accidents, which way do you prefer to publicize the laws of bike riding and road safety?
A:Bike riders should follow the same traffic rules like scooter riders do.
Q 6. What is your opinion about adding more bicycle lane in the village?
A:It is inappropriate to add bicycle lane in roadway or sidewalk, bicycle lane should be independent on the road. For example, the boulevard on Dun hua South Road will be appropriate.
Q 7. What is you consider the most need to be improved by government?
A:The government should add more liability insurances and citizens should comply with traffic regulations in order to achieve zero accidents.
Q 8. During the rush hours, workers move bikes to stations where the number of bikes is inadequate. It leads to the inadequacy of bikes that can be rented. What is your opinion about the situation?
A:Depends on how contractors deal with the problem.
Q 9. In response to the government’s Youbike program, how would you promote villagers to ride more Youbike.
A:I don’t support the government’s Youbike program, it is dangerous.
Basic points
1.Youbike was convenient to the whole Taipei city, but to Ren Ai village, over-placed Youbike stations was dangerous to students.
2.Although most of the Taipei citizens has positive comments about Youbike, the students’ safety should be first considered.
3. Currently, many large roads like Renai Road have bicycle lanes. But other alleys like Daan Road are not suitable. Riding under arcades and streets are not allowed because it is easy to bump into people or harm people. We suggest to imitate japan to plan bicycle lanes on the outer side of the road.
4. Governments should develop more bicycle rules (such as the ban of retrograde) and require drivers to comply with traffic regulations.
5. The government should add more liability insurances and citizens should comply with traffic regulations in order to achieve zero accidents.
