Feng Ren Wen Park

Dou-liou Ren Wen Park

Add: The junction of Da Xiao Rd. section 3 and Gong Ming Lu Jiao, Dou Liu City, opposite from NYUST

Dou-liou Ren Wen Park is located in a former Taiwan sugar cane field in landed owned by the Taiwan Sugar Corporation. After Taisugar substantially reduced sugar production, the Yunlin County government began renting the land and participated in the Taisugar's park-evelopment program. Renwen park is a large place where people can be seen flying kites in the sky on windy days, and especially Sundays. Many students from Yuntech University across the road make good use of this public park to exercise and participate in many activities in their free time. They can often be seen bursting in laughter as they blow off steam from their busy student lives. Renwen parrk is also a great place for families to enjoy a day in the sun. You can often see moms and dads blowing bubbles with their children, while other kids run freely. Renwen is also popular among dog owners who take advantage of the expansive green areas to let their dogs get some exercise while enjoying the sunshine. The atmosphere in the part on any given Sunday is jovial and relaxed.

On that day, after interviewing the owner of pizza truck, we bought various kinds of kites from the vendors and quickly ran to test our skills as the wind picked up. You could see us running around merrily as if we were still young children. The kites appeared like hawks gliding through the warm air in large circles with a blue sky behind them. There’s also an intricate bicycle path intertwined into the park. People of all ages and background enjoy cycling here during weekends.

There’s also a variety of food and drink stands for outdoors enthusiasts to cap their day at the park with a light snack and/or drink. The crowds’ favorites include hand-made pizza, artisanal coffee and the traditional hot dog. You may also just spend a lazy Sunday afternoon reading in the shade of one of the many trees that dot the landscape. Of course, it’s all free!
