Environment of  the  Shelter

Honestly speaking, the first sight of the dog shelter was not appealing because of garbage dump site around.

The staff there said the shelter far away from downtown can reduce the noise disturbance to the

neighborhood, and added which was not uncommon across  Taiwan.

 Aside from the remote location, the equipment in the shelter was only basic. It was only because the equipment was for emergency purpose, not for treatment or vaccine injection.

  There are two ventilization fans on the roof of the shelter.

   When I arrived at the shelter, I smelled dogs' smell, not pleasing one. The staff there mostly are part-timers. They show up on weekends. They told me Friday was mercy killing day.

Some staff mentioned there would be a bigger and more modern shelter to be built  somewhere in Changhua.

I don't like the site of the shelter because of the graveyard and garbage dump stie around. For the potential adopters, they may be discouraged by the distance of the shelter. I really hope the future shelter will be built soon.
