 Confucius Temple

Constructed in 1976 and renovated in Song Dynasty, Confucius Temple has some sections including Dacheng Hall, Chongshen Shrine, Minglun Hall and Shuyuan (Academy). Its elegant structure reveals profound scholarly ambiance.

 Duck Boat

Duck Boat, an amphibious vehicle, looks like a cute duck. It can walk on the land and trash in the water. The boat cruise sails two routes: Love River route and Lotus Pond route. Many visitors take the Duck tour here.

People said that many gangsters often appeared in the north of Kaohsiung, so residents painted horrible images on the surface of the two castle doors in North Gate to frighten away robbers.

Ciji Temple

The folk saying, "Da Dao Gond and Water Spinach Bunches," refers to the legend of Ciji Temple's main deity, Bao Sheng Da Di (Da Dao or emperor of Well Being).

Ciming Temple

The temple, a palace-style architecture, was rebuilt in 1 973. Two deities, the Lord of the Scholars and the Warrior(Confucius and Guan Gong), are worshipped by people. The Spring & Autumn Pagodas and the Lotus Pond in the front of the temple were built in 1951. The verse “Pingshan  Pagodas reflects on the water” describes this beautiful scene, known as one of the top ten wonders in Taiwan.

Ciming Temple

Founded in the Qing Dynasty, the temple was initially named "Mingle Temple" and mainly worshipped the Five Lords Bohisattvas. The temple was later renamed Ciming Temple and began to worship the Lord of Warriors, Guan Gong.

The temple was originally situated in Banpingshan. During the Japanese Occupation, Jhouzai village was forced to relocate to make way for the defense fort. The temple was reconstructed in 1966 and renovated in 1995 with a 50-meter tall statue.

Shimizu Ancestor is one of the famous Buddhas along Lotus Lake. Most disciples always come over to pay a visit to this temple. It is worth visiting this grand building.
