Project Overview
Description of Our Community: Kaohsiung is a beautiful city in Taiwan. The weather here is always good, and so is the air. Located on the south end of the Taiwan High Speed Rail Line. There are many famous temples at Zuoying, which have long histories, so we can know the life stories of ancestors and cultural heritage. In addition, the biggest Confucius Temple in Taiwan is right at Zuoying. And a wide variety of delicious food and snacks will satisfy your appetite. We would like to study more about the importance and history of Zuoying, and introduce the customs and culture to people. Also, we hope that we can understand the significance and value of our neighborhood.
Summary of Our Project We, a website design club on campus, have deep feeling to our hometown, Zuoying, and hope to do something for our community. It’s our original purpose to take the mission. Our computer teacher and an English teacher invited from Fooyin University are willing to help us. All the team members are divided into several groups and each one was assigned different task: photograph and interview; website design; Chinese editing; English translation. After arranging working schedule, we started working. The contents of our project are comprised with the following parts: introduction; Lotus Pond, several famous temples, historical relics; Soldiers’ Dependents’ Villages; favorite foods; green environment. We also list the following parts for all the Website surfers’ references: narrative; video; bibliography; site map. When doing each part, we felt lots of pressure, whereas we almost forgot all the hardship and felt so happy because we learned many things from doing. Most importantly, we really devoted what we could do to our community.

The students who took responsibilities for the web page design are in grade 11.They had some experience but still worried about whether they could submit their assignments on time.

Our teacher and students in grade 12 gave us both directions and enthusiastic help. All the teammates also spent lots of time learning and practicing.

Because we had eight periods of classes and left school after 5:00 p.m. on school days, so it’s too late for us to have enough time working on the web page.

There were some problems happening. We didn’t get the key points from the information we collected. And we couldn't organize all the materials well due to the delay of some parts. Web page making was pending.

We had to re-arrange our manpower and schedule. The one who had finished his/her task should support the other members. Our teacher reminded us of this tough issue for many times. He also instructed us how to collect useful information.

We didn’t get enough information we wanted from the website of Lotus Pond because there weren’t many resources there.

Before going into interviews, everyone should propose some questions so that all the interviews would go smoothly. Then, our teacher would check whether the information we collected from the interviews were effective or not.

We visited around the Lotus Pond but failed to focus on the key points and didn’t obtain more effective information.

Our teacher had to check and revise our questions in advance. And then we would make a new survey questionnaire. When paying a visit, we had to write down the inquiry details.

We could only collect information between classes and after school.

We confirmed our schedule through Line and G-mail.
