Pastime in the Past
Zhongshan Hall and CKS Hall are two cinemas for soldiers to go at Zuoying. Their equipment and decoration were not as stylish as those of modern theaters, but they gave us lots of fun and happiness in our childhood. Let’s get in there.
Zhongshan Hall and CKS Hall
Not only soldiers but also the locals here can go to Zhongshan Hall and CKS Hall to see a movie. Only rerun movies were shown here; therefore, ticket price was cheaper. Many students (at Haicing Vocaitonal High Shool or Zuoying High School) often came here to see a movie on their holidays. They felt a lot of pressure keeping studying day after day and night after night. If they could choose an exciting and happiest pastime, it’s, of course, going to see a move altogether.
Soldier Dependent's Village
Soldier Dependents’ Village has had 60 years of history since it was constructed in 1949. With the industrious development, more and more youngsters move out to more prosperous cities and the population here is being fading. Now, only senior citizens such as grandfathers, grandmothers still stay in this half-a-century-old village. People depend on and help each other, have close interaction, and have deep friendship. By contrast, people living in high-rise buildings don’t know, don’t greet, and don’t help each other all the time.
