Fu Shan Park(Herbal Medicine Park)

In Fu Shan Park, located in Fu Shan Community, you can find many herbal medicine plants. Also, there are children’s play facilities, leisure square and herbal plant area in the park. From the explanatory signs in front of the plants, you can understand what sickness they can cure. All the plants here are not allowed to be picked. If you are sick, you are advised to go to see a doctor and get your prescription from your Chinese medicine doctor.

Boai Park

Boai park is located in the uptown area and many kids play here at dusk. You can find some cute babies learn to walk by push toys and some kids play basketball in the court.

Triangle Park

Located in the triangle of Zouying Da Road, Chungshan Road and Zouying South Station, Triangle Prak, a small park, is famous for old trees of 50, 60, and 80 years. In the future, this park will be renovated. Some fine art lamps, an old town explanatory square, a leisure platform, and a new lawn will bring this park more vitality.

Indigenous Botanical Garden

There’re lots of Taiwan native plants in Indigenous Botanical Garden, but it was not managed well before. After the government’s renovation, this garden now has a different appearance. It is comprised of different areas and each one has its respective appearance and feature. This garden can be considered an epitome of geological ecology of Kaohsiung.

Caogong Canal Landscape Zone

Thanks to Caogong, the county magistrate of Fengshan in Qing Dynasty, the original construction of Caogong Canal was completed in 1939 to resolve the problem of drought. It’s the biggest canal for agricultural irrigation in Taiwan. After renovation, the new Gaogong Canal Landscape Zone comprises Water Purification Area, Water Plant Teaching Material Area and Plant Literature Footpath and Mangrove Forest Exhibit Hall.

Ecological Pond

As the biggest wetland in Gaogong Canal Landscape Zone, Ecological Pond is very diverse with many plants and water animals. Beside the pond, there is a mangrove forest. The pond has many functions such as reserving water, irrigation and, and water spraying. The resource of water in this pond comes from Gaogong Canal.

Coastal Forest

In Coastal Forest, you can find many coral reefs, which buffer adjacent shorelines from wave action and prevent erosion, property damage and loss of life. Along the wooden walkway, visitors can observe the ecology of coral reefs. Many trees in coastal forest contain a complex salt filtration system and complex root system to cope with salt water immersion and wave action. Many kids like to play in the beach and their parents take a rest under the shade of a tree. More importantly, people can learn something about coral reefs.

Education Center

From its appearance, Education Center looks like a villa. The center was made from solid wood and natural materials. It includes not only much collection of ecological experiment researches but also diverse exhibits and explanatory facilities. In the future, the center will recruit more volunteers offering service to visitors.

When visiting Zouying, you are recommended to come to several famous parks. Each one has its feature respectively. Let us tell you what they are like.

When coming to Zouying, you have to visit historical residence with a-hundred-year history and taste delicious food. Finally, you can’t miss some famous parks such as Fu Shan Park, Boai Park, and Triangle Park. The first indigenous botanical garden in Kaohsiung is also at Zouying. Each of these parks has its respective feature. In addition, Ban-Ping Mountain with specific appearance and Turtle Mountain, against Ban-Ping Mountain in the distance, are good places to be recommended for you.
