About TCOCO

Milestones 1993-1994

 

In the 20 years since it’s creation, the TCOCO have made many impossibles possible. They have taken their love for classical Chinese music to numerous small communities in Taiwan. Let’s have a look at what they have been up to!!!

【1993-1994】


 

January 5th, 1993 – The Beginning

The TCOCO was founded on the 5th of January, 1993. It attracted many people who love classical Chinese music. Their mission was to promote music, play concerts and encourage more people to get involved.

January 1994 – Release of First Newsletter

With everyone’s help, the TCOCO released the first issue of its newsletter in January 1994. This was made with the hope that it could spread the word about the TCOCO and their performances.

January 15th, 1994 – First Executive Meeting

In order to make the TCOCO run more smoothly, they organized the first executive meeting in January 1994. I was also agreed that the exec committee would meet every 2-3 months after.

March 1994 – Introduction of Group Practices

The group members discovered that they had some problems with the weekly Tuesday practice. So to solve this, they added group practices for each section in addition to the weekly practice.



 


 

July 30th, 1994 – The TCOCO First Outdoor Public Performance

In Juloy of 1994 the TCOCO were invited to perform in Daan Forest Park’s outdoor performance area. They, in turn, invited the TCOCO to play as support to them. This was their first outdoor performance, and it was a huge success!

November 21st, 1994 TCOCO’s First Regular Concert

In November 1994, the TCOCO played a concert at the community education center and this has since become an annual event – their first regular gig!
