Teacher Chia- Yu Liao

In Taiwan , people often associate "Xisong Elementary School" with the rhythm band , especially in Taipei. That’s for sure! Our “ Rhythm Band “ has been highly evaluated for many years. We cherish this opportunity of the "CyberFair". In this fair , we’re going to show how our “ Rhythm Band works. For this project, we’ve gathered several students who are skilled in computer to form an "Information Literacy Team."

The members of the team have interviewed people , collected information , written the note , discussed with the group , videorecorded, taken photos , scanned ,…etc. Besides , I can see their tacit agreement of teamwork. I believe that they must have grown up much through the whole process. In the meantime , we are deeply affected by the charm of music. Yes ! Super Xisong Kids . You did it !

Teacher Mei-Zi Jhuang

The students in Xisong Elementary School attend the International CyberFair every year. Our “ Information Literacy Team” uses our “Rhythm Band” as the topic this time. In the beginning , they didn’t have any idea at all. In the long run , they have built up the frame of the information of the web page ! I believe that they have learned pretty much after paying so much effort ! It’s very fruitful ! Each of them racked his brains to make records of all that they had observed. They were all willing to share their ideas with their partners very much. The team has concentrated their attention upon the mission completely. Such initiative and enthusiasm are highly commendable ! They have made encouraging progress. I can see that the whole team have very good harvest , both in knowledge and learning abilities.

The Rhythm Band of Xisong Elementary School has won many excellent prizes in the music contests, locally and nationwide, for many years. From the day when "Xisong Information Literacy Team" set up , I have seen that they discuss seriously , search and sort out the data , make records of what they have observed , take part in the practice of the Rhythm Band and experience the instruments,…etc. No matter how the result would be , I believe that they must have gained far beyond their imagination. "No pains , no gains." It must be a very unforgettable and beautiful experience in their childhood!

      "I can usually see the participants of our “Information Literacy Team ”gathering together in the computer classroom right after the lunch.They always commence their studing automatically ,without any noise!From the process of discussing , observing ,experiencing , interviewing to sorting the information ,the team has made the web page of“The Heavenly Music---Xisong Rhythm Band ”step by step.The procedure of the research is really marvelous ! Everybody should applaud for their great efforts !

"Lofty towers are all built up from the ground. It describes the tough process we’ve been through! In the very beginning, our "Information Literacy Team " didn’t even know where to start. I think the only thing they have is "enthusiasm" , the basic power which makes this project sparking. All the participants have seemed to be duty-bound not to turn back since the first day. Each of them has racked his brains. They’ve followed the experiment spirit and learned the scientific way of doing researches. The members of the Rhythm Band have learned how to share with others. Both the two teams have tried to exert the utmost effort to the acme of perfection. We must say the whole procedure is the extract of suffering. Without the supporting of our principal, and all the persons concerning about us ,the two teams can’t break through all the obstacles. We really appreciate them . "The Xisong Rhythm Band" is truly the treasure in our school . Do you want to be the treasure hunter? Welcome to visit us and you’ll surely know!

It was a wonderful experience to take part in this project. I’ve learned a lot about rhythm band from the kids. Hope our project can introduce more music and more knowledge to our community and even the whole world.
