1st Report:Collecting the information and deciding the topic

We referred to the information of the CyberFair before,and decided the topic. We chose the "Xisong rhythm band" as our topic.


2nd Report:Observing the practicing of accordion and melodica

Date:Nov. 27,2012

We observed that the players practiced the accordion and melodic. The sound of the melodica was sweet,even the accordion sounded good. The teacher of the rhythm band taught them pretty hard. As long as someone played a wrong sound,they had to start from the very beginning. Very strictly.


3rd Report:Observing the practicing of idiophone

Date:Nov. 29,2012

The members of the band were observed to play the Christmas carol with the metallophone,xylophone,bass drum,snare drum,triangle,and gong. The "Dong-dong" sound of bass drum was not only powerful,but also energetic ! Besides,there were many instruments which two players had to work in full cooperation,just like the xylophone.The ensemble of the last six different sets of instruments resounded through the skies. We appreciated them for letting us hear a perfect music like that !


4th Report:Observing the ensemble of the rhythm band

We observed the whole band playing together. There were newcomers, like the players of the recorder and piano. Some people were called to play the instruments by the teacher, but they failed one after another. The piano player was stupefied in the beginning. Through practicing time after time, they could give a very melodious performance. The "ensemble" was quite more difficult than any other "solo", so the band became more and more progressive day by day.

7th Report:Exploring the musical instruments of the rhythm band

We surfed the Internet and went to the library for the introduction of the musical instruments of the rhythm band. This could help us know every kind of instruments which the band played.


8th Report:Experiencing how to play the piano and the terpodion piano

We practiced with the band together. The members of the band became our assistant teacher, and experienced how to play the piano and the terpodion piano.

14th Report:Videorecording the performance of the rhythm band

We videorecorded the ensemble of the band when they played the music of Christmas carol . We used the video recorder to make a record so as to post on the internet of the CyberFair to let everyone in the world appreciate their ensemble.


15th Report:Inviting the fifth and sixth graders to fill in the questionnaire

We designed a questionnaire for the fifth and sixth graders and invited them to fill in it with computer. Then we used the function of the Excel to sort out the information we need. This helped us to realize the point of view of the rhythm band of the fifth and sixth graders.
