Parents’ Workshop

Since there are more and more immigrants in Taiwan, the population of their second generation accordingly increases. The childhood of these immigrant parents is quite different from that of native born and raised up ones. The language they use to communicate with and the way they educate their children is hence different, too. There fore, for helping these immigrants to adapt themselves to the society and to have more solid knowledge about education, the counseling office held a workshop for parents to share their experience in educating children and make a better relationship between them and their children. In the workshop, many mothers brought up some questions like “Does it bother you that you don’t know how to teach your kids?” or “Will you be angry if your kids don’t listen to you?” They try hard to get used to the culture here. We should give them more encouragement and support.
