In Taiwan, most families are equipped with computers and can access to internet. Computer skill thus has become an important ability for all the people in this modern society. However, to most of the new immigrants from South East Asia countries, computers had been far away from their life before. It turns out to be a big issue for these new immigrants to know more about computers. Therefore, the Counseling Office of the night school opens a computer science class for new immigrants on weekends to teach them how to turn on and off the computer, to type in Chinese and English, to use some software such as Windows, and to write email.

After continuous learning for weeks, these new immigrant students do not only have the basic computer skill but also know how to use internet to expand their interpersonal relationship and to contact their family in their homeland.
