2008-2-18 The Society of Wilderness  (Ya Chun)

We are going to visit Taichung Office, the Society of Wilderness in the first week of our summer vacation.  I was attracted by the handmade handicrafts when I stepped into the office.  The plants and flowers decorated on the wall are so beautiful and special.  There is some snake skin in a crystalline box.  In addition, we saw many handicrafts.  When we finished watching the first floor, we were going to the second floor.  A narrator introduced us many secial and easy landmarks.  Afterwards we watched a movie about the natural landscapes.  It is extremely amazing for me to see so many beautiful pictures of scenic spots.   

2008/1/15/The Society of Wilderness  (Ger Yen)

Today I am very happy because we are going to visit Taichung Office, the Society of Wilderness.  In my mind I thought it was a very big house, but it was quite the same with the ordinary houses.  Although it was a small house, it was filled with the smell of the Nature.  There was a very big natural thing.  What impressed me most was a very long and handsome snake skin.  Two ladies showed us many things and introduced some scenic spots including Jade Mountain, a sea of clouds and other special spots.  Above all, they taught us how to make a Green Map marked with some symbols.  We had a wonderful time and it’s quite simple.  After we went home, the things which I saw in the Society of Wilderness still lingered in my mind.

When I went to visit the Society of Wilderness, I realized that it was very different from what I thought.  I thought it was a huge house, but actually it was smaller than mine.  Yet you could almost anything inside and you could even saw movies.  In addition, we could have some oranges there.  It must be very delicious though I didn’t have any.  There were two ladies in the office and they introduced many scenic spots to us including Jade Mountain, a sea of clouds and some other special scenic spots.  They also taught us how to make a Green Map.  It’s fun and simple.  You could use branches to be the frame and you could mark with many symbols.  This trip to the Society of Wilderness made me learn how to preserve our nature and how to make Green Map.  It’s worthwhile.

There are many rare plants in the Society of Wilderness and the handicrafts made by hand.  The ladies there introduced many things about the plants and even the “nature police”.  They taught us to cherish the beauty of nature and how to make a Green Map.  There were some signs.  Certainly they showed us some beautiful pictures.  The one I preferred most was Jade Mountain.  I loved the beautiful scenic spots in Jade Mountain and there was a terrific sea of clouds.  Of course I adored the snow.  I bought a handmade sticker.  It’s a beautiful flower.  The Society of Wilderness is a very interesting place.  I like it very much.  Hopefully you can go if you have leisure time.
