Green Map in the NowGreen Map in the Futur

A Green Map isnot an ordinary map. From 1992 to now there has been 42 countries from six continents joining this international movement. On a Green Map you may find a flourishing old tree, Chinese Bulbuls or Japanese White-eyes in addition to the connection and attachment between people, community and the environment.

Discoveries and enjoyment of collaboration abounded in the process of this research. During the field-trip observations and continual “chit-chat,” we have gained more understanding about our surroundings, dug up charming stories behind the old familiar communty houses, and the greeneries and plants in our neighborhood that people used to ignore.

A Green Map offers an opportunity for people to re-attach themselves to other people, to their community and to their environment, and an opportunity to creat together a new prospect, a hope of keeping valuable records about nature, ecology and environment protection for their hometown. It is also an important indication to the quality of the environment.
