“Without mom, I
cannot survive” is the heartfelt words of Jun-de to his mom Yu-ying Liu for her
hard work in the past years.

Using one word to
describe the life of Yu-ying Liu, it will be “hard”. After getting married, her
husband gambled and beat her to severe hearing disability as he got an affair.
The disability troubles her for an entire of 20 years until her husband left
home and got divorced with him to give her a short-lived relief. However, her
children suffered types of diseases one after another. The disability pensions
were almost paid for the over NT$1 million mortgage. The entire family depended
on the thin Yu-ying picking rubbish from morning to evening. And she had to
take care of the disabled children. Being a strong mom, she successfully won
back her son Jun-de who had been unconscious for 3 months after brain tumor
surgery. It can be seen from all of Yu-ying’s bravery toward life and her story
of hard life since she was 13 years old can move and touch the hearts of

Yu-ying Liu was
beaten by her husband in domestic violence to hearing disability. Her two
children suffered diseases one after another after she got divorced with her
husband. The entire family is disabled as her oldest son was disabled by birth.
However, as a strong mom, Yu-ying Liu rides her children to hospitals or
recuperation. The persistent love won her 13th session of 10
National Distinguished Moms Award the other day.
“I have been in hardship
since when I was only a teenager. When shall be my day?”
The 62 year old ,skinny thin 35-kilo Yu-ying Liu
says that her parents died when she was a teenager before her brother died on
his second day in he military. She expected to get some care from her husband
and someone to rely on after marriage. However, she ended up suffering domestic
violence with medium hearing disability as a result.TOP

More than 10 years
ago, Yu-ying Liu was happy to get her husband when her husband left and
divorced her. It was unexpected that her little son Jun-de Wang was thrown into
a 3 month long coma after brain tumor surgery. Although he has been now pulled
back from death, he cannot move freely as his left-side limbs are powerless.
Her daughter suffered
mental disease, bearing no more pressure of life with her husband died
recently. With her oldest disabled son working in Taipei, the Huo-de Wang, Yu-ying Liu family
are all disabled now.
Jun-de says, after
getting back from Taipei hospital to their home, they have been on the long and hard way to
recuperation. For the sake of his early getting better, his mom rides him in
motorbike to the hospital located 6 or 7 kilometers away on weekdays for
medical treatment. Only the round journey takes about more than 2 hours.TOP

Recalling his fragile mom taking care
of him for such hard years, Jun-de cannot help sobbing: “without mom, I cannot
survive!”
Yu-ying Liu says that
the family gets no way and no ability to work outside with a mortgage over NT$1
million paid by the monthly low income pension and disability pension of nearly
NT$10,000. Thanks to the township government and the temples nearby to send
them rice irregularly with neighbors’ help in addition to Jun-de’ picking some
bottle for recycling for money, they still live a very hard life.
Yu-ying Liu says that
she gets no idea about future and only hopes that her children can recuperate. President
Chen, when seeing her on16th of the month, promised to promote
Jun-de’s disability assistance level and improve somewhat their lives.TOP
