It may be lack of
oxygen during labor or God’s testing Chiou-ju, or more possibly a gift from God
that Hsi-wen was found having hearing disability by birth and being unable to
speak like normal people. However, Chiou-ju keeps telling His-wen ever since
she was little: “You have only poorer hearing
ability than others, you’ve got to bring your other talents to full play”.

Although a hearing
disabled, the undefeated and studious Hsi-wen developed herself as a talented
child. Ever since she was little, she loved watching other children playing the
piano. Looking at the tempo-setter, she got to learn the rhythms as her teacher
tapped her correspondingly at the lap. By such a special way of learning, she
managed to become a hearing disabled with the ability to play piano.
Chiou-ju said happily
that it was not her credit that Hsi-wen did well academically since she was
little up to now. From kindergarten to college, being each class session, she
always asks: “Mom, can I meet good teachers in this school?” The lucky Hsi-wen
got the care of the school teachers in addition to her own efforts as well as
the care of her mom, she successfully won a lot of awards in schools and now
she is studying in social science department of Fu Jen University.
Chiou-ju’s support
for Hsi-wen can never be left out. However, she regards all her efforts the
force of faith, which makes her bravery, confidence, persistence and patience
to go on. TOP

her daughter Hsi-wen got severe hearing disability since her early days.
Fortunately, she did well both academically and morally and now is studying in
her junior year in the social science department of Fu Jen University. However,
it costs NT$70,000 for each hearing aid with average yearly expenditure on
