Daqiao community development mainly focuses on caring about others. It is expected to create a friendlier environment by interacting with each other as before.

Daqiao community participated in Welfare Community-based Flagship Program in 2022, a three-year program implemented by the Department of Social Affairs, Changhua County Government. This plan was expected to unite each community development association to learn with each other, share experiences and gather the folks’ strengths.

This program was expected to offer welfare to the locals by the community development association, such as children and youth welfare, women welfare, senior welfare and some disadvantaged groups. In this program, Daqiao community led the Gongqi, Tianyang, Qielong and Meigang communities to implement five sub-plans. They are Senior Welfare: New Paradise for the Elderly; Women Welfare: Women Power Academy; Generation Inclusion: School for Youth and Seniors; Volunteer Empowerment: Base Colonization and Care for the Elderly; and Volunteer Empowerment: Improve Cadres' Professional Skills.

Through various programs, the Daqiao community expects to realize the following plans: New Paradise for the Elderly for lifelong learning. By learning new things, the elderly can relieve stress and stretch muscles. At the same time, the elderly can go out of the house, get dignity and recognition in the community, and pass on the experience to the next generation.

Women Power Academy encourages women to pursue personal growth in their busy lives, broaden their horizons, enhance their aesthetic sense through relevant courses, and apply it to teach in community activities or decorate the community for festivals. This course also invites new immigrants to participate and improve their interaction with others.

School for Youth and Seniors is expected to change age discrimination in different generations. A harmonious intergenerational learning will be created through collaborating on paintings and traditional puppets. With this, the elderly will know their values, and the teenagers and children will improve their self-confidence.

Volunteer Empowerment focuses on training the volunteers on their abilities. The new volunteers are taught by experienced ones, who lead them to understand the operation of the community care station. The senior volunteers pass down their experience and accompany the new volunteers to serve the community. In this way, the community volunteers can also get acquainted with each other, making the relationship closer and creating a better quality of community service.

Because of advanced healthcare, the average life expectancy in Taiwan has increased, and so has the elderly population, which makes caring about the elderly a critical issue. Set up a care station in the community and anticipate the localized community care to allow the elderly to stay in their familiar environment and feel more at ease. Meanwhile, the family caregivers can have time to rest and recharge.

In the care station, the elderly can participate in health promotion activities with community volunteers and hang out with others to improve their physical and mental health. For the elderly with disabilities, the care station can also have a home visit. Reciprocity and volunteerism can create a new symbiotic relationship and a happy living environment.

Dacun Township is an important production area for growing grapes, particularly Kyoho grapes. About 500 hectares in the township plant grapes. During planting, grape branches need to be pruned regularly. These branches were agricultural waste previously and were usually directly burned by fruit farmers in the open air, causing air pollution.

Therefore, a reusable grape vine carbonization method was developed to solve the branch waste problem. Carbonize the pruned grape branches and smoke them. The smog produced in the smoking process will be cooled down to make grape vinegar, keeping mosquitoes away and deodorizing. The carbonized ash is alkaline and can improve acidic soil or fertilizer. The community also produces dried butterfly pea flowers, grain power and puffed rice candy, etc., to increase the community's revenues.
