I. Chih-fen Chen

Courtesy name of Chih-fen Chen(1873~1926) was Shih-yun and he was the third son of Chi Chen. Besides public affairs, he often participated in artistic activities. In comparison to enthusiasm of Huai-cheng Chen, Chih-fen Chen was more reserved. We did not find Chih-fen Chen in the list of poetry societies of Lukang and he only appeared in the group photos. In addition, as to Li Poetry Society, from Record of History, we realized that Chih-fen Chen appeared in the membersˇ¦ meeting as ˇ§a guestˇ¨.

He and his uncle Huai-cheng Chen often invited poetry society friends to meet at Shi-yi Building. As gentry at the time, they tended to grieve the governance by different race through Chinese poems.

II. Tsao-yun Chen

Courtesy name of Tsao-yun Chen(1879~1950) was Zu-yun and he was the fourth son of Chi Chen. With the influence of family education, although he was not the member in Li Poetry Society, he tended to participate in the meeting as ˇ§assistant memberˇ¨ with his brother Chih-fen and uncle Huai-cheng. In 1910, with his uncle Huai-cheng and poets of Lukang, he participated in annual meeting of Li Poetry Society, South Society and Li Poetry Society in Rui Xuan of Taichung. When Liang Qichao visited Taiwan, he met poetry society friends in Taichung and it showed his relationship with poets.
