Overview of Activity

     In order to allow the members to learn more about the past of Shi-yi Building, we plan the activities, as shown below. The content in detail is in the following web pages. Please enter by the button on the left.

I. Experience of Shi-yi Activities

     We reconstructed the scenes of the literati who recited poems, tasted tea, played instrument, painted and played chess in the building. Thus, the members could experience the literary atmosphere in Shi-yi Building.

II. Interview with Scholar

     We invited Mr. Yen-yu Chuang to introduce history and architectural value of Shi-yi Building and receive our interview. He was not only the well-known historic worker in Lukang, but also the resident of Shi-yi Building. He had lived in Shi-yi Building since childhood and at present, he founded his own Lu Si Cultural Studio in the building. He was the perfect guide to introduce Shi-yi Building!

III. Interview with the Elderly

     At present, the eldest senior who has lived in Shi-yi Building is Mrs. Chuang!  Mrs. Chuang, more than 80 years old, has lived in the building after marriage and left the place five years before our interview. It has been 66 years. She must have plenty of interesting stories and personal feelings for our interview.

IV. Explanation

     After the Cyberfair project, the students must have fully recognized Shi-yi Building. Thus, we decided to walk out of the classroom to introduce the building to the tourists and people. We can promote what we have learned, and become more courageous. It is a special learning experience!

V. Questionnaire Survey

     In order to probe into tourists’ and people’s satisfaction with our explanation and their expectation toward Shi-yi Building opened after restoration, we designed several simple questions and conducted Excel statistical analysis as future reference.
