The Hall of Medicine Buddha

The Hall of Medicine Buddha is on the second floor of Fude Temple on Dianzai Street. There are three statues of Buddha, known as the Three Buddha. The first one is Gautama Buddha, commonly known as Buddha, the second one is Amitabha, known for guiding people to do good deeds, and the third one is Medicine Buddha, known for protecting people’s health. Standing on the sides of the Three Buddha are Skanda and Sangharama. They are protectors of the Three Buddha and the health of children.
On the nineteenth day of each month on the lunar calendar, Fude Temple on Dianzai Street will have scripture reciting gatherings to help followers getting rid of bad luck and welcoming good health and wellbeing.

The Three Buddha in Buddhism, as explained in its doctrine by founder Gautama Buddha, meant the Buddha, the scriptures, and the monks. The Three Buddha is a common term used by people to call Gautama Buddha, Amitabha, and Medicine Buddha. The Three Buddha represent different worlds in their relativity according to the cosmic view of Buddhism. Gautama Buddha is in the mortal world, Medicine Buddha is in the East, and Amitahba is in the West. People sometimes confuse the Three Buddha with the Three Form Buddha and the Three Life Buddha.
