Wenchang Dijun(God of Wisdom)

Wenchang Dijun, also known as Wenxing, Wenchang Jun, or Wenqu Xing, is responsible for school works and tests. He is worshipped by people pursuing success in studying. The pen in the hand of Wenchang Dijun is the artifact that protects scholars and students, and it could also help test takers to do well. Legend has it that Wenchang Dijun is the incarnation of Wenqu star, guardian of scholars. Wenqu star represents the literary temperament, and it is the primary deity at many temples.

When it comes to exam season, many candidates would pray to Wenchang Dijun for success on the tests. Here are the proper steps to praying to Wenchang Dijun.
Step 1: Place photocopy of the test permit on the offering table (or at designated area)
Step 2: Sincerely tell Wenchang Dijun your name, title, time, and location of the test, and your test permit number. Ask for his blessing on your test.
Step 3: Take the test permit and circle the incense burner clockwise three times.
Step 4: Leave the test permit in the designated area.
If you do well on the test, don’t forget to return and thank Wenchang Dijun.
