The Hall of Military Songs
The appearance of The Hall of Military Songs features traditional Japanese architecture. The roof of the house made of cypress wood is still in good condition.You can hear the loud songs as you walk inside . The volunteers said the songs we heard were mostly about "counterattacking the communism and retrieving Mainland China " . The lyrics , therefore , were less pleasant.After all , the main purpose was to boost morale. The louder they sing , the closer victory will approach.Voices resounded through the sky,which made me hum along with the music freely.Those songs were made to boost morale , but now I can feel peace inside my heart. I think this visit was really fun. Although I was born and raised in Pingtung , I have never been here ever. Hidden in the noisy city, there is , unexpectedly , such a tranquil place . What a great place to get away from busy life and to pay a visit to the historical remains here.
The General`s house
As the title suggests , the general used to live here. I was surprised to see the beautiful appearance of the house , and even astonished as I walked in . The unique front porch in Japanese style caught my eye , which made me want to know more about what was inside . I couldn't help but think "What a nice place for a general to stay." Every detail of the house revealed how noble anyone that ever lived here . Although the floor was made of fine wood , I still walked carefully , not to make too much noise. This house has long history in Pingtung. Thanks to all the historiographers , so we are able to know it more and feel its beauty. I hope that one day when we see it again, it will be as strong as it is now.

The General`s House.
Today is my first time here. When I entered the general's house, I saw not only volunteer`s guidances but also visitors listening intently. There are many compartments inside, and one of my favorite parts is its windowsbecause I saw the same ones in Japanese anime very often. There is a big tree outside the window , you can feel cool during summer time.There is also a bomb shelter outside the general's house, which was used for emergency at the time , but now it is deserted.
The Hall of Military Songs
A few steps away , you can arrive the Hall of Military Songs . Aside it , there are some Installation art objects. The volunteers told me people love to come here to take wedding pictures along the aisle. In the yard there are some cute figure billboards for taking photos. I saw a volunteer who looked like a schoolteacher, who also sang along to the melody for a while, and these military songs were created to boost morale. The other rooms are decorated with used instruments, remaining lyrics, costumes and badges . This visit has not only fulfilled my wishes but also enriched me.

The General`s House
As the title suggests , this place was the dwelling of General Sun-Li-Ren. Its size is larger than any soldier`s house , and the style of the building is influenced by the Japanese traditional style. Therefore, the door of the entrance is shorter than those of Taiwanese styles. Walking through the hallway , there is a living room and a long aisle .and the general`s Office is along the aisle . The House of the General is a very historical building , every part inside is well-preserved.
The Hall of Military Songs
This decoration inside is also affected by the Japanese styles. The floors are lifted and the height of the door is shorter. You can hear several military songs were played, and the narrator said, "when the army is desperate, singing a military song can cheer them up."Indeed, either singing or listening to military songs can be very magnificent. The songs were mainly about "anticommunism and homeland restoration". As the KMT was fighting and retreating to Taiwan, the military was thinking about how to fight back. That is why the soldiers sang military songs .

The General`s House
Although I have been to many places in Pingtung, this is my first time to visit the general's house.The general's house mainly introduces the supplies that American army provided during Chinese Civil War and features of Japanese- styled architecture. I learned about the history of Chinese Civil War. Here I knew even more that I hadn`t been told from my teacher. What impressed me the most is MacArthur Thruway, the first high way in Taiwan. But now it no longer exists. I found that Coke Cola was also imported at that time. We also saw the bomb shelter for the first time. I knew the history of Taiwan better after the visit .
The Hall of Military Songs
After visiting the general's house, we went to the Hall of Military Songs It is the only memorial hall that features the military songs in Taiwan. The songs has demonstrated the old song charts, the development of military bands and the origin and history of military songs and so on.. which let us know more about this little-known culture. Luckily, we met a tourguide who happened to be a soldier. During the visit, he told us not only the early stories but also his own life experience. I therefore understand why soldiers sing military songs , the main purpose was to boost the morale of the army and the people of the country. Although we seldom get to hear the military songs, we can still visit here more often , so that we can know more

The theme of 2019 cyberfair is the culture of Military dependents’ villages. That is why we came here ,the House of the General and the Hall of the Military Songs . Both of the two places are on Qing-Dao Street, where there are some old houses kept as exhibition halls for toursits , others are renovated as special restaurants.
The General`s House
Both the General's House and the Hall of Military Songs were built by high- leveled officers during the Japanese-Occupied Period. Therefore, they are much larger than the houses of ordinary soldiers. Besides, there are large courtyards becuase of the Japanese-styled architecture. The floors are lifted , and the doors are lower. The front porch is included , where the office for the guards is nearby.
Different exhibitions were held in the house. This time was "Through American Aid Era." The exhibition showed how greatly the American influenced Taiwan during the American Aid Era . How new things that we never saw before influenced people `s daily lives. Such as , kids used to wear underwear that were made of flour bags or how Coca-Cola became a hit , and so on.
The Hall of Military Songs
The tile of the Hall of military Songs reveals it`s a small museum for military songs. I could hear the encouraging and inspiring songs as walking in . The tour guide told me if one soldier became frustrated or exhausted , singing military songs is the refreshments to boost their morale.

The General`s House
The General's House belongs to the culture of the Military dependents’ villages.When I walked inv, A few words caught my eye , "Through American`s Aid Era ". The house is completely japanese-styled architecture. The volunteers introduced us the features of the building and other events such as stories of Sino-US cooperation, Sheng-Li new village, pingtung flight stories. There are many models of planes, as well as ohter special items during that period.I always thought that there was nothing special about the general's house in the village. After this visit, I learned a lot about the daily life of the early generals.
The Hall of Military Songs
When we waliked in , I could feel music notes flying in front of me. Not only that , the volunteer was also very nice and friendly . He sang all kinds of military songs for us . Later we learned that his family members were all soldiers. He also told me that he used to sing the military songs loudly, the soldiers did so to boost the morale. I really admire the soldiers !
