The slide of the Baiguo Mt. is known
as the longest slide, 75 meters long and 45 degrees slope, in
Taiwan. It, located in the Baiguo Mt. Scenic Area, is a childhood
memory of a lot of people born between 1960 and 1980. Even though it
was named ¡§Happiness Slide¡¨, the entire towering slope has no
handrail or guardrail at all so whoever wants to slide there has to
take a risk to climb up to the top with bare hands. On 3/2/2014, the
slide was finally equipped with handrails. The safer playground has
attracted crowds ever since. The Baiguo Mt. Scenic Area, where all
kinds of fruit trees and flowers grow, belongs to the Baiguo Mt. The
Baiguo Mt. Scenic Area involves four areas: water source area,
resort area, Guang Tian Temple area, and tourist orchard area. The
water source area is a quiet and beautiful place with a lotus pond,
Shuiyueyuan Mountain Villa, and swimming pool. The resort area has a
garden and children¡¦s playground. The tourist orchard area is open
according to the harvest periods of a variety of fruits; The Guang
Tian Temple area, located in the rear of the resort area, is a large
place where tourists could go worship or take a nap. There is also a
campground accommodating more than a hundred people.
The Baiguo Mt. is Yuanlin¡¦s major recreation area, which provides
beautiful scenery as well as entertainment.

The temple on the Baiguo Mt.: If you overlook from a height in a
foggy morning, you will be surprised to see a bea
utiful scene like a
painting, in which an imposing temple vaguely sitting in a green
mountain looks like a paradise. It is the well-known Guang Tian
Temple.
The Guang Tian Temple is located at the peek of the rear Baiguo Mt., in the rear of the Baiguo Mt. Scenic Area, and stretches over a wide expanse of land. The land was originally donated by Mr. Chian-ching Chen to build a Diye temple. Later Mr. Weng and other believers rebuilt the temple to a more magnificent one. Mr. Chin-hsiung Weng donated the two vivid majestic lions at the entrance too.
A garden of shades built along the hillside behind the temple looks like a hanging garden. In every blossom season, flowers and crowds make this place very busy. In addition to the exceptional advantages of the Guang Tian Temple, there is also a star fruit orchard near it. The tourists or pilgrims can have good time here and return home fully loaded.
Postscript: Our direction for the project was to visit attractions of the Baiguo Mt. to see its beauty and collect information regarding Baiguo Mt. Hiking Trail, ecology, garden, coffee, food, and temple.
