Introduction of Guang Xiang Ju”¦s homemade Bursting-juice port balls”Xfounded for sixty years in Hemei Township.

Description of local communities”G

less than two kilometers away from our school

    Hemei Township is located in Changhua County. Its southeast is Changhua City, west is Xian-Xi Township, northwest is Shen-Gang Township, and northeast is the Dadu River. Across the Dadu river, there are Dadu and Long-Jing townships. Hemei Township is 6.0364 kilometers from east to west, and 9.0909 kilometers from north to south, with town area of 39.9345 square kilometers, ranking the tenth among townships of Changhua County. The ancient name of "Ka Li Shan" was from Pingpu Aboriginal”¦s BABUZA language, meaning the place between warmness and coldness, mild climate, and beautiful environment.

    Hemei Township has not only a beautiful environment and good weather, but also famous and popular cuisines. There are many old restaurants passing down from many generations. We are going to introduce Guang Xiang Ju”¦s juicy meatballs, passing down from three generations. Let us taste the appetizing juicy meatballs.

Research Project Summary

Let everyone know the Bursting-juice port balls in Hemei

"Guang Xiang Ju" Bursting-juice port balls are so famous, and I wanted to taste it for so long. Finally, I had a chance to eat the appetizing juicy meatballs. What made them even more special was that they had meat inside. I decided”XI wanted to let everyone know this traditional cuisine. We decided to participate in the Cyberfair, and used the Internet to promoting the food.

After we conducted a thorough investigation, we found that the cooking process was very time-consuming. The restaurant uses ground meat of pigs slaughtered within two hour as the basic material, plus special meatball "stuffing", and then boils the meatballs in water to become a delicacy. Flavors are carefully selected, including onion, salty soy sauce, sugar, salt, and so on. As citizens of Hemei, we should explore our own town and food. With this project, we have a chance to introduce juicy meatballs to people.

       but they have to obey the rules of Internet
       access.

We have overcome the issues:

When we need the knowledge, we regret that we are lacking it”I

  1. With not enough computer skills, we were not able to present a perfect outcome. Need to keep studying!
  2. Not enough records, and television footages were not easy to obtain.
  3. Getting cool feet during interview, we did not express clearly.
  4. Not easy to collate information. We spent too much time on site architecture development.
  5. Needed to improve computer skills, including: web design, sound and video clips, image processing!
  6. Division of team labor was not easy, so we used internet to discuss at home.

7.  Heavy responsibility of being local ambassadors”G

   We visited each class, and introduced Bursting-juice port balls to students in our school.

ĵ We were too shy to look at the audience, as if talking to the air.

ĵ Because we did not have confidence, we talked to ourselves,
       and the audience could not hear us.

ĵ Too rely on posters and documents, we ignored the audience.

ĵ We did not memorize the content, so the reports lost focus.

Learning”G

   We were touched during interviews. Every industry has touching stories. When going into Guang Xiang Ju, we felt that everyone was serious about their work, with satisfied smiles on their faces, and they were not tired at all. Their sincerity is the reason of Guang Xiang Ju”¦s sustainable operation.

   We hope that in this event, we not only got to know meatball production methods and procedures, completed a web production, but also learned the founders”¦ spirit”Xnot blaming others and not bowing to fate. Although they have physical disabilities, they work harder than others, and their spirit is worth learning.

   We would like to thank the staff of Guang Xiang Ju. Without sacrificing their valuable time, our interviews could not carry out smoothly. Thanks again. Hope that Guang Xiang Ju can be more widely known, and let everyone know about Hemei town.

How did this research project of Cyberfair help your learning and curriculum requirements?

  The purpose of this research project is to promote the beauty of juicy meatballs in Hemei town, so we used a local field research method, and developed and cultivated a lot of skills.

Language”G

During research process, we learned how to organize documents, internet information and oral records into coherent and informative articles. We expressed personal thoughts through communication, trained how to response during interviews, and learned how to be young reporters. Through writing authorization Letter and certificate of appreciation, we were getting good at words and sentences. All these helped us in the areas of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Social Sphere”G

In the learning process, we interacted with different people and learned how to talk to people, which was very rare experience for us.

Health and Sports”G

We were very impressed by Guang Xiang Ju”¦s quality control and food safety for three generations. They did not add harmful additives, knew the importance of freshness tastefulness, and protected customers”¦ health.

Integrative Activities”G

We learned as a team and cultivated the spirit of "cooperation." We completed the research through the division of labor, discussions, encouragement, and self-supervision. We knew the importance of team efforts, and shared results together. In the course of the study, we enhanced the mutual understanding, worked for a common mission, and strived towards the goal. When collating information, we also respected the "Intellectual Property Rights" and used the obtained information with legal procedures.

During the research, we drew a lot of beautifully designed posters, propaganda, and other documents, and used the computer image processing software to edit photos and to place in Web pages. The production process enriched our artistic vision.

How did you play the role of Cyberfair "ambassadors" or spokesman through online or
personal contact?

   Through parents or the local people”¦s word-of-mouth. Every member sacrificed their vacations to play the role of ambassador. Also, our teachers sent out e-mails to seek support, and we obtained a lot of valuable information!

What kind of influence and impact did your research project produce?

Today, ancient tradition has lost. Machines, replacing human labor, seem to become business opportunities and progress. Guang Xiang Ju kept up with the pace of time with its quality and sophisticated cooking process, which is admirable. We hope that one day our juicy meatballs can be more famous than Hsinchu meatballs, and is well-known overseas!

How did local people help with your research project?

Thanks local people who accept our interview enthusiastically. Guang Xiang Ju offers free machines, materials, and skills, and free juicy meatballs! We ate about 4 kilograms of meatballs!

Learning”G

In this project, we not only knew the meatball production method, and completed the web production. We should learn the spirit of Guang Xiang Ju”¦s founders, Mr. and Mrs. Chen”Xnot blaming others and not bowing to fate. Although they have physical disabilities, they work harder than others, and their spirit is worth learning.

With the progress of time, Guang Xiang Ju is getting more famous with advanced information technology. iSet TV interviewed Guang Xiang Ju, and many celebrities  visited. In order to meet the needs of gourmands, customers can also order the products by telephone and internet. The products are vacuum-packed and sent via frozen delivery.

We watched that a decades-old restaurant got rid of the burden of old age, and still got traditional flavor, which shows the owner”¦s careful management. It is not only a business for him, but lifetime devotion. Because he devotes his life into this work, we firmly believe that Guang Xiang Ju”¦s cuisine will certainly evolve with time while having traditional flavors, getting more popular. Someday it may enter the international market”I
