History

Guang Xiang Ju was founded before the restoration period, and so far has been founded for sixty years and passing down for three generations. Now the third-generation owner is Mr. Xi-Ming Chen.

Mr. Xi-Ming Chen¡¦s Grandfather, Mr. For-Ding Chen, worked in the so-called "cafeteria" in the Japanese colonial era, and Mr. Xi-Ming Chen¡¦s Father Mu-Tian Chen grew up in the cafeteria since two years old and laid the foundation of its restaurant.

The so-called cafeteria in the Japanese colonial era is similar to today's restaurant, offering meals, drinks, desserts, and pasta. Mr. For-Ding Chen invented a kind of ¡§stuffed¡¨ meatballs, using mallets to beat pork continuously to produce excellent flavors and texture, so customers called them the "beaten" meatballs, becoming the famous cuisine in the cafeteria. The "traditional" sausage recipe is also passed down from the grandfather.

Followed the footsteps of his father, Mr. Mu-Tian Chen founded Guang Xiang Ju at around thirty years old, where "meatballs" and "sausage" are the famous cuisines. After a decade, at his forties, Mr. Mu-Tian Chen decided to sell only "meatballs" and "sausage." The third generation owner Mr. Xi-Ming Chen has followed his father since twenty years old, and has been operating independently for twenty years old. His father serves as a consultant. They came out ideas of postal shopping, internet marketing, and online shopping together. The stuffed meatballs, made of fresh pork, have been Guang Xiang Ju¡¦s signature food since the restoration period, better than Hsinchu meatballs. <Meat testing certificate>

Because of using fresh pork and seasoning with herbs, after boiling in water, the meatballs are sweet and juicy, and therefore called ¡§juicy meatballs! And the word ¡§juicy¡¨ in Chinese is a registered trademark! Because they are hand-made, the irregular rounded shape has a very rich and beautiful name ¡§diamond meatballs¡¨.

If you have the opportunity to come to the Hemei, do not forget to visit Guang Xiang Ju and buy the most unique and delicious souvenir of juicy meatballs.
