Submittal of Proposal on “Love Yuanlin Railway

     It was not easy to complete the sorting and result analysis of 1800 pieces of questionnaires in short time. After interview, visit, online questionnaire promotion, and questionnaire result statistics, Jingsiou Vanguard Team did a good job under joint efforts.

     In the morning of February 10, 2015, we entered the Mayor’s office under the leadership of Headmaster Huang and submitted

the proposal of “Love Yuanlin Railway”. Mayor Zhang was deeply impressed when he was interviewed in December. At the moment when he saw the proposal, he expressed his affirmation, “Great! It is convictive and valuable for reference in planning of Yuanlin.”

Brief report of questionnaire results and suggestions

     In the brief report, Teacher Lin talked that, some people think that there are high-speed rail and subway wrongly, so they know little on the change of Yuanlin Sugar Railway into bicycle, therefore, it’s speculated that the public of Yuanlin fail to know the traffic environment completely. Next, he mentioned that: Yuanlin Bike Path has the value of tourism, but it needs design and promotion; coffee shop and food shops with features of Yuanlin are additionally arranged in Yuanlin Station; the place under viaduct is planned into a business street, supplemented with green belts and bikeway; and display hall of railway relics is additionally set in Railway Silo. Therefore, it is clear that the public has a strong demand for tourism, culture and art preservation.

 

      Most of the people have no idea of the details of Yuanlin’s railway elevation project, but they positively affirm the elevated station and railway, and lacks understanding of local art features of Yuanlin Station. The environment problems are numerous people and vehicles, high noise, and many underpasses, etc. The traffic problems have been improved with the completion of elevated railway, but the noise problem is still waiting to be improved. Finally we submitted the works and suggestions of colored paint to Mayor Zhang, Jingsiou Vanguard Team also shared the feelings after field investigation, and suggested the feasibility of outsourced management of Railway Silo and wall painting. What in urgent need for treatment are the problems of stray dogs, environment and public security of Yuanlin Bike Path.


Love Yuanlin Railway GO!       

      Mayor Zhang affirmed the efforts made by Jingsiou Vanguard Team for times and accepted the proposal. He expressed thanks to our team members for providing the most authentic suggestions. We fulfilled our task successfully and left the Office of Qianjin Town happily. The efforts of Jingsiou Vanguard Team were seen by others, and we hoped that everyone could love Yuanlin, GO! GO! GO!

 
      In Feb., 2015, after Vanguard Team submitted the recommendation, it quickly received a reply from Yuanlin Townhouse in appreciation of its consistent attentions and supports on Yuanlin Development. In response to Vanguard Team’s recommendation, additional night lighting facility was added on both side of bike path by Yuanlin Townhouse this March, right after the Chinese New Year Holidays. Central Region Engineering Office has also completed the Underpass Filling Project on schedule. With the beautiful scenery of fallen petals lie in profusion on the drive ways, the future of Yuanlin environment and transportation are getting promising.
