We decided to have this mini performance provisionally. When we interviewed the owner of Sefa 58, Rei, he sang to us. One of our members suggested casually that hopefully we may have chance to perform with him. To our surprise, Rei promised us without second thought. It’s a rare and valuable experience although we got on the stage for just 10 minutes. It’s very happy to perform with Spoon De Chop; it’s very expectable! In addition, we had twin girls as our special guest as well!

Our practice did not go well at the beginning. We haven’t been familiar with the lyrics maybe because of limited time. Gradually, we could memorize the lyrics. Our practiced for a few times, but we did it very efficiently at each time with our parents’ instruction and all members’ full support. Eventually we finished our rehearsal very soon, and we were more confident to perform on the stage.

 

We enjoyed Rei’s singing very much before we got on the stage. His enthusiasm touched us. Sometimes everyone sang together, and sometimes the performers would interact or chat with the audience. The atmosphere was very joyful and lively. Rei performed sometimes the traditional songs, and sometimes the Okinawa songs. His voice is deep and very “Okinawa”. The audience enjoyed the music and was crazy for it very much. The performance is very impressive!

 

In addition to enjoy Rei’s performance, we kept memorizing the lyrics hard before getting on the stage. When we were in the backstage, we enjoyed Rei’s voice and thus forgot the pressure. “Deep breathing, out……”; we adjusted ourselves until the last moment before getting on the stage. It’s our first time to face so many people in a little distance.

 

When the music rose up, we put ourselves into the performance totally; it seems that there was no audience and we could throw our worries and anxiety away. “We expect an excellent journey but you are still waiting……;” the lyrics are like our emotional description. The process of doing this project is also an amazing journey!

 

In the performance, we realized that we could familiarize ourselves with Yongkang Business district and understand the local residency more. In addition, every member had good performance skill and great unspoken consensus. We played our roles very well; even the soloist also did well. It’s a big improvement!

 

After the performance, we wish to continue the music. To our surprise, Teacher Chiao ju came to cheer us up although she was very busy. It’s a pity that we did not perform the best because of a few practices. Some members bring the note to the stage; we shouldn’t have done that. Anyway, with this experience, we believe that we would perform better with more smiles next time.
