Michelin star

Din Tai Fung’s other branch stores abroad are operated in the same way as the Japanese’s branch store. They all use the “authorized” business mode, but in these branch stores, two of them stood out and became the exception. Two Hong Kong branch stores have received Michelin one star with honor.

Why would they think of setting up branch stores in Hong Kong?

At first, the Hong Kong branch store is also in the authorized business mode. However, their operate idea was different from the Taiwan store. In order to guarantee Din Tai Fung’s quality for food, Din Tai Fung determined to use direct mode to operate their branch stores.

In 2008, Hong Kong’s first branch store was opened in Tsim Sha Tsui. Taiwan’s management team quickly reversed the customers’ hearts. In December 2009, they had the honor to get Michelin one star. It was the first Taiwanese restaurant that obtained the Michelin star.

In December 2009, the Tsim Sha Tsui and Yee Wo store in Hong Kong also obtained Michelin one star at the same time.

In 2011, two of the Hong Kong branch stores had received Michelin one star again. Din Tai Fung’s raw materials, ingredients, cookery and service once again had proven themselves to be extraordinary in the food industry.
