1. What’s you impression of HePing River? Please describe.

Ms. Zhang AhChu: I remember that people could jump into the river and swim nakedly, go fishing and even take a bath in the river without worries.

2. When was the last time you went to HePing River? with whom? and did what?

Ms. Zhang AhZhu: I went there during I was 1 year old to 18 years old, but I rarely went there after I was 18.  I often went there with YuHong’s grandmother.  The last time I went there with YuHong’s grandmother to go swimming and fishing.  We caught some fish, crabs and shrimps.

 

The HePing River You Know (How much do you know about BiHai Construction of TaiPower?)

Ms. Zhang AhZhu: I know that, and I am very familiar with people working there.  Hydropower of HePing River can save the energy and reduce pollution.

4. What do you think is the impact of HePing River to the residences in the community?

Ms. Zhang AhZhu: It has a great impact.  We used to be able to catch fish and swim in the river, but after the mining industry, we couldn’t do those things anymore.  Aboriginals love places with water resource. 有水的地方。

5. What is your expectation to future HePing River? (or with what use of the river)

Ms. Zhang AhZhu: I hope it could be like LiWu River.  I appreciate it most because the administrators of Taroko George have done something to it.  I hope HePing River can return to the way it was, and no more mining please.
