As soon so you stepped in the entrance of the Tree House, you could see a thin string hung from the upper side. Raised your head, you could see a bell hung over there. Uncle Huang said that the bell had a long history. When he was a child, everyday when the evening had come, families in Servicemen’ Residential Compounds would pull the string to ring the bell and shouted that “time for dinner, time for dinner” to remind children in each corner coming home for dinner.
As time went by, although the habit had been gone, he hung a small card under the bell, printing of “wishing bell”. It changed identity to a lucky charm. When you visited the Er-Kong Tree House, as long as you pulled it and made a wish truthfully, your dream would come true.
Majestic Military Might — Stands at Attention

These army caps were laid aside behind Tree House as if they were talking about countless troops stories around Er-Kong in decades. Each army cap was from different people, as if they had endless stories.
Er-Kong had been a small village located next to military base for decades and lasted to now. So many troops came and went in the neighbor air base, shuttled around Er-Kong area day by day. In those days, the military condition was so intense. Servicemen lived or stationed here made Er-Kong area strong military color from the old times till now.
When Uncle Huang introduced the caps, he explained the stories to team members by a meaningful tone. “Except different branches of the armed forces, the owners included general, captain and sergeant like me”.
Actually I often used such distinction as example to encourage everyone to go forward bravely. It was very hard to get general position in our age so people needed to break the limitation in order to pursue the better future.

Indeed, these two cases were at a grandfather level. Uncle Huang said that “you may not know that they were all from Mainland China together with soldiers who fought in World War II”. For the young kids like Er-Kong.

The marriage certificate with actual size quarto was very consciously. It brought young team members strong interesting. Uncle Huang said “this was from mainland China”. To look at it carefully, the yellowing marriage certificate was a love contract signed in the Year 1946.
It had been 64 years from now. The words “uncountable small melons” printed in the certificate showed that people used different blessing terminology in different ages.
