Temple fair
A Taiwanese (folk) opera performed on the stage.
A hand puppet theater performed in the front yard of the temple and attracted many locals.
Yuan-Shuai Temple is same with the other temples of Taiwan, has its own temple fair, the activities of the temple fair includes Taiwanese (folk) opera, hand puppet theater and Karaoka show etc.,
Some of them perform in the front yard of the temple square, some perform on the stage which is at the front yard of the temple. The performances is mostly offered by believers who thank god.

At Lantern Festival every year, the committee of Yuan-Shuai Temple always holds some activities about the FestivalˇG it invites hand puppet theater performes taiwanese fairy tale in order to pass down traditional art; it also holds some get-together activites such as night-song-party, playing movie, guessing lantern riddles(riddles written on lanterns; a Chinese traditional game) and Karaoka show etc., it makes use of these activities to get together with Youchang commune.
At Chinese New Year's Day, the committee of Yuan-Shuai Temple, Youchang li zhang(the head of a subdivision of the district) and alderman of Kaohsiung city held 'write couplets and celebrate New Year' activity. They invited some famous calligraphists to write couplets on the ground in the front yard of the temple; meanwhile, they called on Youchang residents by broadcast to come here for free couplets.
