The Interview of the Village Head, Huang, Wen Zhong The Interview of Mr. Ye, Yuan Huang

The Interview of Miss. Jian, Hui Ling

The explanation of the picture: interview of the village head Huang, Wen-zhong.
Present position: Head of Rui-feng village

Topic 1: Can village head talk about the methods for community people to get their necessary water?
Content:

People of Rui-feng village will search for the source of water for the using of livelihood and irrigating all by themselves. Some of them even have to connect the water from other villages. The explanation for this is because people excessively widen the mountain hillsides by using the large amount of water. Every family has to spend a lot of money preserving the water pipes and the equipments of them to protect is. For the township people, it’s very sufficient for them to have the water. Thus they form a common idea of the “convenient water.” Standing at my point as the village head, I think that it’s definitely necessary for village people to cooperate with the “assistance of community development association” to finish this harsh work.

Topic 2: The current situation of citizens’ preservation of the water and soil in Rui-feng, and your immense contributions.

Till the 921 earthquake, we find out that the geological situation of the land is a little bit loosened. And it’s the undeniable fact that our source of water is seriously reduced. Every year when the torrential season comes in summer, there would be a lot of damages occurring, such as the collapse of the road or agricultural path. To properly build up their own lands, local people have to set up the plan for the water and soil preservation. For example, they will build up the draining water system and preservation of the hillsides… etc. It’s because the serious injure, local people have to pay a bill for building and reconstructing. Every year when the damage happens, I will immediately make the road to function for a second time. I will also let people go to their own tea gardens to take care of it. About the public owing ground, we will require the economic support from the bureau of water development, or the bureau of the town and village development to build or expand it.

Topic 3: Here is another question for village head: what will we face with in the future when doing the project of the “community convenient water system?”
Content:

Since the main source of the convenient water comes from either the streams or rivers, the first trouble that we will encounter is that there is not enough water to use. According to my presumption, I think that citizens who live around the Yong-xing temple may most likely have no water to use. Besides, the quality of the water itself is a very imperative difficulty. If the streams have not been purified, when it rains, there will be a large amount of mud and sand in it. At that time, the polluted water will be drawn out to the water tower. However, there is only one manager in this area. Can we shut down the switch of the door to end the pollution once the rain comes at the first time? Moreover, because our pipelines are too long to restore, it will also be a thorny problem we will face with in the future.

Topic 4: Village head’s viewpoint and proposition for the water supplying system in school.

Our school has the best mountain springs in Rui-feng area, and the amount of it is very affluent. Nevertheless, because they may go through many dangerous places, it’s very hard to preserve it. I think that if we can call for more funds from official bureau, we can draw the water to the top of the Mt. Hai-shu. In this way, we can make use of the height to make the water run to our school. On the one hand, though this way, we can make straightforward the route of the pipelines for us to easily repair them. On the other hand, we can save the payment of the electricity. Namely, we can kill two birds with one stone. The water in the school is the result of several yeas’ painstaking. I will advise our school should cherish the source of water without wasting it.
