The Only Descendents of Takopueanu
|
The records (Chou-chi Tung, Cu-chi Cao Chronicals, 1951) say that there
was a rapid fall in Takopueanu’s population with wars and plagues and at last
only 85 people of seven families survived. Then it was ruled by Tapaytt and its
descendents were raised by the Fang family of Tapaytt (Mr. Wen-ming Fang and
Mr. Yang-ming Fang, the two cousins). The number of the Takopueanu’s people continued to decrease and there
was only two families left till 1935. They moved to Shanmei and settled in Shanmei Village. Takopueanu had thereby
vanished. (The grandfather of Mrs. Mei-si Lu is from one of the two families
that moved to Shanmei)
