Niahosa had gradually become deserted since Takopueanu finally moved to
Cayamavana of Chashan Village about 110 years ago. It became an even more
ominous place after Takopueanu had vanished. |

Niahosa was the pasture for the Japanese during the days of Japanese
occupation. The Japanese sent for Lijia villagers to run the pasture. Although
there was only one hill between Niahosa and Lijia it was still a long and hard
journey for the villagers at that time.

In 1945, Mr. Yi-sheng Gao of Lijia village suggested moving southward
and from 1946 people began to move to Niahosa. So most of the Niahosa people
came from Lijia and only a few from Tfuya. Then Niahosa was called the sinmei
tribe, which meant the new and beautiful tribe. |
