 The name of Sinmei was given by Japanese and meant the new tribe. But according the local people the right name should be Niahosa. The original five tribes lied in the present five neighborhoods and they were all called “Niahosa”. We can find the sites of the ancient tribes with the one-century mango trees.

 Sinmei is located in Alishan County. It has convenient transportation. You can go downtown by way of Road 129. Go north and pass Shanmei, and you will get to Route 18 while go south you can find Kaoshiung County Sanmin Township. You can find lodgings in the community and taste various local delicacies and fresh Gaoshan vegetables and fruits. There is also the first tourist service center in Alishan County. You walk around Niahosa so long as you choose our website.
 

 Traditional dresses are made only in Alishan County and there is weaving industry in Sinmei. We have fine handicraft schools where you can take weaving classes and make many DIY handicrafts for yourself or as presents for others.

 Now it has become very popular the idea of taking vacations and protecting ecological environment. You do not have to go abroad and in Sinmei you can enjoy all the natural sceneries of mountains and rivers. Sinmei is known for its rare Gaoshan fish, fireflies, safe climbing paths, camping sections beside the river, barbequing sections, etc. It is really a fairyland where you can smell flowers and stay free from earthly cares and.
