We sacrifice, for we resign ourselves to destiny.

We strive, for we reject misfortune as fate.

Those who scramble for the earth,

Shed their blood, day after day.

Those who owe their lives to the heaven,

Drip with Sweat, night after night.

The fierce sun will set.

The long night is sure to end.

Hakka people, who sacrifice and strive,

Are expecting their coming twilight.
