Miaoli  

County,  

Taiwan,  

is  

a  

Hakka  

com

poser,  

conductor,  

and  

Chinese  

music  

educator.  

Mr.  

Lee  

received  

his  

music  

education  

in  

Chinese

Music  

Department,  

Chinese  

Cultural  

University;  

thereafter  

he  

acquired  

a  

master  

degree  

of  

mu

-

sical  

composition  

from  

the  

Chinese  

Music  

Institute  

of  

National  

Taiwan  

University  

of  

Arts.  

He

has  

been  

devoting  

himself  

to  

music  

education  

since  

1995,  

when  

he  

finished  

his  

military  

service

in  

the  

Ministry  

of  

National  

Defense  

Symphony  

Orchestra.  

In  

1996,  

with  

the  

assistance  

of  

en

-

couragement  

from  

local  

people,  

Mr.  

Lee  

founded  

the  

Union  

of  

Chinese  

Music  

Ensemble,  

to

promote  

Chinese  

music  

and  

music  

education.  

During  

the  

past  

decades,  

he  

has  

done  

a  

thorough

and  

profound  

research  

in  

Hakka  

music  

and  

created  

several  

series  

of  

Hakka  

musical  

works.  

At

present,  

he  

serves  

as  

the  

leader  

of  

the  

Union  

of  

Chinese  

Music  

Ensemble  

and  

the  

music  

director

of Miaoli Chinese Orchestra.
