Domestic Resource
Since Vivianna Lin got fund from Youth Development Administration, Ministry of Education, we thought inviting the staff fromYouth Developemnt would help us know about volunteer work overseas. Therefore, we had a seminar at our school library on Dec.25, 2020. Chief Dai kindly shared more details about youth overseas peace corp. The following paragraph is the brief note we took during the seminar.
Following the annual policy goals of President Tsai¡¦s ¡§12-year national basic schooling education policy¡¨ in 2016, the Youth Overseas Peace Corps was established, along with the Youth Overseas Peace Corps Promotion Committee. These offer young people overseas voluntary service opportunities, broaden their international outlook, and give young people opportunities to explore and discover the customs and cultures of different countries. Every year, the volunteers who get picked make the visit to the presidential office to meet the president. Before they leave Taiwan, they have to receive pre-trip training courses to build their capacity in planning, project execution and the local language, and satisfy their need for relevant knowledge about overseas service.

We think being a volunteer overseas gives us a wonderful chance to learn another language and culture, expand our hearts and minds and above all, brings fulfillment to our lives.
