Influence & Inspiration
Influence & Inspiration
Vivianna¡¦s parents have been
giving full support to their duaghter¡¦s decision of being a
volunteer. In 2016, Vivianna worked first time as a
volunteer in Cambodia. From this experience, she got
acquainted with a bunch of passionate volunteers. With the
same goal, they agreed to be volunteers together in Eswatini
in July, 2016. While working in Eswatini, Vivianna met a
volunteer group leader, Song, Min-Hua, who now works in
World Vision International. She has a crucial influence on
Vivianna¡¦s future career. She makes her realize the gift of
time is often more valuable to the receiver and more
satisfying for the giver than the gift of money. People
don¡¦t all have the same amount of money, but we all do have
time on our hands and can give some of this time to help
others. She encourages Vivianna to walk out of her comfort
zone and try something new and meaningful. Therefore,
Vivianna starts to write funding proposals and tries to
fulfill her dreams of helping people.
Another person who also inspires Vivianna most is Gigi Wu,
known as a bikini climber. Gigi is famous on social media
for summiting some of the most menacing mountains in Taiwan
and, more pointedly, for posing at the end of each climb
wearing only a bikini, the pics of which populated her
Facebook page. Sadly, Wu died from injuries sustained from a
fall in Nantou County. Vivianna sees Gigi Wu as a brave role
model for she fearlessly stepped out of her comfort zone and
chose her own way to share the beauty of mountains in Taiwan
even some people despised her bikini pictures at the peak.
