Applying SWOT analysis method to evaluate the core problems on difficulties and obstacles in the development of Chinese calligraphy education

Strength	WEAKNESS
Calligraphy can cultivate one's mind and disposition, adjust the pace of life, develop a better ability for concentration and patience, give one a chance to be more aware of his/her inner world, and elevate citizen's cultural literacy.	Duo to shock from development of electronic products and multiculturalism, people tend to seek innovation, variation, and speed, and are addictive to sound and light stimulation with no sense of time and no patience for calligraphy, especially without guidance and a suitable atmosphere.

External

Opportunity	Threat
Doing calligraphy can promote harmony, reduce conflict, enhance the quality of life, and learn to appreciate the work of others. It is a combination of aesthetics and philosophy, and it is essential to continue encouraging the development of this great quintessence and make it a valuable cultural asset.	Calligraphy education in primary and secondary schools is not sufficient. There is a lack of an artistic environment. Static calligraphy exhibitions do not appeal to the general public, or People do not equip the capacity to appreciate.
