We’ve been staying in Linkou Campus of Kang Chiao International School since the school was established two years ago. From the beginning, the school has upheld the belief of “Broadening students’ international views while setting foothold in Taiwan”, devoting to cultivate us as world citizens with social concern. Keeping this ideal idea in mind, we hope that through our research, students who came to Kang Chiao from all places can gain more knowledge about Linkou and build deeper attachment to this place in the early stage of the establishment of the school. So, the club members decided to choose an over-a-hundred-year-old temple — Zhu-Lin-Shan Guanyin Temple—as our research subject. (The literal meaning of Zhu-Lin-Shan is “bamboo forest mountain”)

We expect that through searching information, interviewing different generations (old, middle and young), visiting the field and attending lectures by experts, we can enter the corridor of time, put the pieces of the history of Zhu-Lin-Shan Temple together, know more about the history of Linkou’s development, and finally practice the belief of Linkou Kang Chiao, benefiting public interest and give back to the society. That is, collaborating with the temple, dedicating our inconsiderable effort to benefit local residents, and thus make the connection between our school and Linkou local community tighter.
