Sum up our research area
Our school (New Taipei City Guangfu
Elementary School) located in New Taipei City Zhonghe District. We are
surrounded by lots of printing factories. The paper factories and binding
factories are everywhere especially in Lide Street, Zhongshan Road, and and
Jiankang Road. How the printing related industry distributed in Zhonghe? And
why some of the factories we visited have the printing department in the
basement but the binding department on the 3rd floor, some even in
the next building? Some companies they have departments depart like streets
away!

To find the answer, we need to find out the
industry development in Zhonghe District. We have the conclusion from Internet
materials that: Zhonghe, as a suburb district of Taipei City, absorbed the
immigrating population from all over the place. It provided the housing service
and supported the development of Taipei City. It has plenty of open spaces
around Zhonghe Interchange. It also has condensed population and many industry
areas. Zhonghe became the hot spot for construction companies to build their
industrial estates. Later with the opening of the Express Way 64, East Bound,
No. 1 Express Road, Taipei MRT Zhonghe Line, it provides rapid and convenient
transportation services to build confidence for the companies to build those
estates.

located in the estates of industry area. They are all called “industrial estate”
In fact, 2 of the printing factories we had visited are located in these area.
We happened to find out why the roads in Zhonghe District are not organized at
all. It is all because the population in Zhonghe growing so fast. The roads
inside the city just like wild horse. They’re running everywhere wildly. Not
only to the outsider, even the people who live in Zhonghe feel that walking or
driving inside Zhonghe just like walking in a labyrinth. In spite of the facts
above, the industry area which developed from the 50s in Zhonghe, provide numerous
labors to the city and are list as the top 5 in Taiwan.
We use the following map to explain the
location of our hometown－Zhonghe. The main
target of our research－The printing factories in Zhonghe－mainly locate in the industry area called－Erbazhang Industry Area.

Zhonghe locate in the southwestern New
Taipei City. With not so big area, we have the second largest population in New
Taipei City! We have 414 thousand people in all. The population density is as
high as 20.1 thousand people per km square. It is listed as the fifth high
population density city in Taiwan. |

If we look closer, Zhonghe and Banqiao are
like two brothers connect together. The citizen like us often shuttle from
districts and many roads are linked. |

The area we marked in bald black line is “Erbazhang
Industry Area”. We got the information from Internet that the main usages of
the land here are for printing and data storage media manufacturing and duplicating,
electronic parts manufactory, 3C products manufactory and optical product
manufactory. I wouldn’t know there are so many factories in Zhonghe without
this map. |
