Origin
"Cheongsam" is one of Chinese traditional costume, which is a body-hugging one-piece Chinese dress for women. Cheongsam is good-looking and meaning happiness, so become one of wedding gowns of nowadays in Taiwan.
Cheongsam is evolved from Manchu woman traditional costume, and is improved on combining with Western-style in 1920s. Cheongsam with a coat is stipulated for dress representing Taiwan after Kuomintang of China taking over Taiwan. Wearing Cheongsam is also represented good fortune, happiness, safe and sound.
Making a Cheongsam need to process measuring the body, making a paper pattern, tailoring, ironing, sewing, bordering and making Chinese frog. Every Cheongsam takes a lot of time and energy to make.
