◆Stage Play—Hidden Belle in the Golden House (2002)
This stage play Hidden Belle in the Golden House’s main characters are Wu Shin-Guo and Hsia Wei. It portrays the story between Han Dynasty’s Emperor Wu and Chen A-Jiao.
◆Musical—Butterfly Lovers (2003)
Butterfly Lovers is the Chinese folklore fantasy about Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. This production was by Dafeng Musical and the principle actors were, among others, Berson Wang and Winnie Hsin. They hired on Ms. Huang Wen-Ying as their artistic director, and therefore asked Master Chen to make their costumes.
◆Stage Play—Fool Village (2009)
Fool Village was led by actors Lichun Lee, Megan Lai, et al. The story was about a 30 year old teacher, Ma Cheng-Hsian, who went to a remote Chinese village, Dong-Fun Village, with just his broken old suitcase. He arrived with a heartfelt of passion for education, was hired on as the full time principal, and taught the 19-year-old daughter of the village’s doctor, Dr. Su.
◆Stage Play—Samlet (2009)
Samlet is a major theatrical series produced by the previously disbanded Lanling Theatre Company, reformed--after numerous years—with the original members, and included Hugh Lee (李國修) and Mark Lee (李天柱). Ms. Huang was responsible for costume design at the time, and of course Master Chen ended up making them.
◆Stage Play—Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder (情人哏裡出西施) (2014)
The Chinese Medieval fest of song and dance—Beauty Is in the Eye of the Beholder—was about matters of love and hate between the nations of Wu and Yue during China’s Spring and Autumn Warring States Period, with views on contemporary matters sprinkled in here and there. It covered the story of Fu Chai, King of Wu, where he avenges his father’s death, and of Goujian, King of Yue, where he served as a slave for the King of Wu, all for a chance to revenge his nation. The lavish costumes used were made by Master Wu.
