Before interviewing Master Chen, we read the reports and pictures about Master Chen. He looks tubby, wearing a pair of silver-rimmed glasses, grey Hair, gets little old.
We feel little nervous while the beginning of interview. But master Chen is very amiable, like our grandfather, we feel easy presently.
Master Chen was born in 1953, and 62 years old now. He continued sews cheongsam for over 40 years. Master Chen born in a poor family, and had 6 children in his family. As the eldest son, master Chen started to working in “YU-FENG Cheongsam” to bring home the bacon from 14 years old.

Because of working in parents' shop, master Chen works from routine tasks to every details in sewing cheongsam. According to sound training and development, master Chen has solid foundation of excellent sewing cheongsam skills. For example, master Chen was responsible for purchasing and measuring body in the beginning, but each tailors had different requires. To harmony with different tailors, master Chen learn lots of skills from different tailors, and the experiences give master Chen big promotion in the skills of sewing cheongsam.
Master Chen completed his first cheongsam in his twenties. Master Chen not only inherited the good workmanship from his father, but also turns out better.
Now master Chen chants to thanksgiving the help of god in his spare time besides sewing cheongsam. Moreover, because the orders of cheongsam is declined these days, master Chen is not demand his children to be a cheongsam tailor.
Master Chen answered our questions patiently
Master Chen said there are fluctuations in the turnover of “YU-FENG Cheongsam”, but there are always some benefactors to help. When the orders of cheongsam are declined, master Chen has the opportunities to make costumes, and make the costumes in "The Assassin" later. All of these works help master Chen holds fast to keep the shop of “YU-FENG Cheongsam”.
Through this interview, we found although master Chen starts to sewing cheongsam unexpectedly, he keeps continued investment in efforts to be a master tailor of sewing cheongsam!
