Geographic position of Linzih Street (Yuanlin Township)

    As for Linzih Street we live in, which is Yuanlin Township of Changhua County, the data verified through network is: Zhuanghua County is located in the place slightly close to the north to center of west coast of Taiwan, and Yuanlin Township is in the east of Changhua Plain. 1, Yuanlin Township (120 degrees, 33 minutes, 52 seconds east longitude and 23 degrees, 57 minutes, 43 seconds north latitude) is 3.5km to Bagua Mountains in the east and covers an area of 40.0380km2.

    Yuanlin Township neighbors Nantou County and Changhua County Fengyuan Township on the east, Changhua County Shetou Township and Yungching Township on the south, Changhua County Puhsin Township on the west, and Changhua County Dacun Township on the north, with convenient railway system and road access.

[Topography]

    Yuanlin Township is in the southeast of Changhua Plain. It is the raised coastal plain in the west, with an attitude of about 25m, there is red soil distribution and the land is fertile, and moreover, Babao Canal runs through this region, so the agriculture is developed, however, some places have the phenomenon of soil liquefaction, in which Lunya Neighborhood has the worst condition, where the existing buildings are endangered. There is Baiguo Mt. in the junction with Nantou County, a branch of Bagua Tableland, where it is steep in terrain; and it is mostly erosion gullies for erosion effect in the north and west.

Yuanlin fault passes through Yuanlin Township. Due to the action of Chelongbu fault in 921 Earthquake, Bagua Mountains were influenced, causing prominent horizontal displacement in Yuanlin area.

[Climate]
     Yuanlin Township has subtropical monsoon climate. There is sufficient sunshine; annual average temperature is about 23℃; annual average rainfall is 1500mm; annual average relative humidity is 77%; August has the heaviest rainfall, followed by June; it is mainly influenced by plum rain, typhoon rain and convective rain; it is frequently attacked by typhoon in July-September; the highest temperature on average throughout the year is 28℃; especially in the western plain of Bagua Tableland, there is a high temperature for it is against northeast monsoon, and the lowest temperature on average throughout the year is 19.4℃; influenced by cold air mass from the Chinese mainland, it is dry season in winter and mainly dominated by northeast monsoon, and it is dominated by southwest monsoon in summer, with a high temperature.

    As far as we know, Yuanlin Township has a stable climate throughout the year, and we are free of typhoon, flood, and drought. It is an ideal place of tourism, with good climate in four seasons.

[Hydrology]

    Yuanlin Township has agricultural irrigation system for the plain and Bagua Mt. irrigation system. The irrigation canals passing through Yuanlin Township include Yuanlin Canal, Babao Canal, and Shigou Canal. The irrigation systems of Bagua Mt. include Dongshan Irrigation System and Chenghsing Irrigation System.

[Geology and soil]
     Yuanlin Township and Yungching Township are located in the relatively flat place of Bagua Tableland, with soil distribution. It is mostly reddish brown soil in the area with prominent terrain and yellowish red soil in the lower area.
