School uniforms

Through the visit to sewing workshops, we came to realize that we had no idea about our clothes at all. To better know about the texture and components of clothes, we decided to take them apart and find out their secrets. Our school happened to have some donated second-hand clothes. So we asked the Office of Students’ Affairs and saw if we could have a piece of clothing. The head of the office was very nice and took us to choose clothes.
We studied the texture of clothes before taking them apart.

How were the clothes sewed: needle lockstitch, overlock, cuff, collarband……(d1)

The teacher demonstrated how to take the clothes apart and told us what we should take notice of. Then we got started! (d2)

Yi-ping began first. We felt very curious~~(d3)

There was not enough space in the computer room so we had to crowd at the notice bulletin board. (d4)

After taking the clothes apart, we put the parts onto the advertising board.(d5)

We looked at the torn pieces and tried to figure out which parts they were with the teacher. (d6)

After thoughts about the secret of clothes:

Po-ta Chen

In order to prepare for the presentation, we had to take the clothes apart. At first, I thought it could be done very easily. As it turned out, there were many parts including the front, back, cuffs, collar and buttons...Oh! There were about 12~13 parts to be torn down. Fortunately we had a very violent, no, strong classmate who was able to quickly remove the parts. With little strength, I could only find the thread and cut it with a scissor. Then I handed the clothes to the strong classmate.

Yi-ping Liu

In order to make it clearer to the students attending the presentation what parts the clothes were composed of, we took the clothes apart. There were collar, pockets, front, back, cuffs and so on. We also knew it better ourselves through this process.

Jin-yu Chen

We took the school uniform apart. There were front, back, pockets, sleeves, tie, cuffs, and so on. The most difficult part was between sleeves and the front. Scissors and, knives have to be used.

Chi-yuan Huang

The teacher taught us how to take the clothes apart and prepare for the presentation. We used scissors to cut the threads and tore the clothes into collar, pockets, front, and sleeves, cuffs, etc. We did not know that the clothes had so many parts until then. We thought they were just one piece of cloth. We found the collar to be the most difficult part and the cuffs easiest.

Ya-guan Wang

I did not know that the clothes had so many parts before that. I was astonished. I thought clothes were made from one piece of cloths. In fact, they were composed of many different parts. There was a lining inside the collar to make the collar straighter and nicer. Through this process, I came to know about the clothes we wore.

An-peng Wu

We had to take clothes apart this time. The clothes were made of collar, cuffs, pockets, front, back and so on. I found the cuff was most difficult to take apart, as it had very complex. Composition. Other parts could be cut by scissors or torn by hands.

Bao-le Chen

In order to make it clearer to the students what parts the clothes were composed of, we took the clothes apart. They were collar, front, sleeves, cuffs, pockets, back and so on. We thought they were just one piece of cloth. In fact, they were made of many parts.

Xin Ouyang

The uniform was made of collar, pockets, front, sleeves, cuffs and back. The uniform could be torn by scissors easily. Or you can just use your hands. That feeling was great. I realized it cost a lot of money and time to make clothes.

Ting-yu Li

Before the presentation, we took the clothes apart, so the others could be able to say the different parts of clothes. They were collar, pockets, front, sleeves, cuffs, back and so on. We used scissors to cut threads and tear the clothes apart. I found the cuffs to be the hardest part.

Ya-ting Tsao

Today, the teacher handed us a school uniform for us to take apart. I found that everyone in the Cyberfair project had a tendency of violence, which did not match their appearance. I was astonished, especially when aggressive Ouyang took the clothes apart just by one lug. It took me a long time to just dissemble a small part. An-peng Wu was violent as well.
