2015 Cyberfair Exhibition Procedures
After active discussion of Cyberfair members with advices from the teacher, we decided the subject "Across Seas 60 Years,  Dachen People in Yonghe" for the exhibition and named team "Chi-Jen Explorers".

We started our preparation for the research immediately. To better know Dachen people in Yonghe, we have been gathering information of Dachen and Yonghe Wuhe New Village on the internet to make a mind map. During the creation of the map, our initial knowledge of the subject was formed.

After the creation of the map, we went to Wuhe New Village to visit and take pictures locally. There we got a information about an activity center in Datong Village -- which was once popular for local people to hold ceremonies and holiday events and also an office of Taipei County Wen-lin Fellow Townsmen Association.

There were a hall for events in the first floor, meeting rooms and reading rooms in the second floor, and a Chiang Kai-shek memorial room in the third floor. Due to the time passed and little fund for maintenance, the center was no longer in use and rather an archive for old books and photos which helped us to cherish the good old days.

During gathering information of Dachen Wuhe New Village on the internet, we found many vendors who are popular but hard to get within valleys, such as Dachen Cho's Year Cake which is a must to group-buy for festivals, Dachen Needlework (Mei-gui's Shop) who is famed for making many stage clothes for actors, Jiangze Food Restaurant own by Xiao-e Chang where anyone should not miss when they come to Yonghe.

We hoped more people can know Dachen more about traditional food and artifacts. To achieve this, we could not only read articles and photos on the internet, but also visit the place, meet local people and experience everything in order to find some exclusive stories to tell.

We were excited and a little bit nervous before we made the first call, and surprisingly figured out that Mr. Cho and Mrs. Hu's children studied in Chi-Jen Elementary School as well -- they are our older schoolmates, how lucky! We decided the time to see Mr. Cho and Mrs. Hu successfully, but still had no idea how things will go. Let us be patient and read on.

While we were visiting Cho's Year Cake, Mr. Cho introduced the process of making Dachen Year Cake and demonstrated how he form the cake by his bare hands. He was awesome and those animals he made were so realistic! We made some by ourselves as well and Kai-wen made the best rabbits. Mr. Cho also gave us cakes which were freshly baked and mixed with brown sugar like dumplings. We got fed, and had things to play, cool!

After that we went to Mei-gui's Shop. Mrs. Hu showed many materials for needlework such as beads and glitter, they were so beautiful! She also showed us many photos and clippings of famous actors and actresses, and we were all impressed. She had some dresses in the basement unfinished but still gorgeous. One of my classmate even said that she want to wear the dress in her wedding ceremony.

To make our classmates know our old neighbor -- Wuhe New Village, we Cyberfair members have made the activity "Introduce Dachen Wuhe New Village" by going to the classrooms of fifth and sixth grades introducing Dachen's stories. We knew enough about how difficult to make the traditional needlework but other do not unless they do it by themselves, so we also made the activity "Let's Make Dachen Needlework" and invited Mrs. Hu to come for teaching everybody simple techniques.

By these carefully made activities with our discussions, we hope everyone have known better of Dachen people in Yonghe.
