Shao Hsun, Yen: It was my second time to join
Schools Cyberfair this year. It took more time to interview, sort data out, set
website and do experiments than last year. To submit good work, we worked from
summer vacation to winter vacation, from ordinary days to holidays, and we
revised our work again and again, but no one complained, just worked hard. As a
leader, I’ve led our members to complete this work, and there were sorrows and
joys during the process. Sometimes we argued but sometimes we interacted in peace.
This work was composed of tears and sweat from eight students, teachers and elders
who assisted us, and I believed you could see our greatest efforts in it.
During these months, I have learned more experiences which were different from the
past, such as the teamwork interaction relationship, the experiments only seen
in textbook, special topic report and reflection. Thanks for this activity to
let me have more different life experiences.
Fang Yu, Chang: At beginning, I thought Cyberfair
is just to find a topic, write research paper and make website, but after I
joined this team, I found this wasn’t an easy job. We discussed the topic
together at first, framed structure before divided research contents, visited Mr.
Lin, boss of White Horse Chateau, who gave us data for reference, did
experiments, and visited the nearest Hsien-Hsi monitoring station. It took much
time for us to search for data and sort them out. All work wasn’t easy. However,
I found that I have learned much from this work after we completed it.
Yu Liang, Wang: I have learned a lot of knowledge
from this work and done some experiments which helped us to understand the
water quality around us and the influence and harm on Hsien-Hsi from dioxin.
Although the process was hard, the fruit was good. Thanks for teachers’ careful
instructions and the discussion and cooperation between members to complete
this work.
Wei Yin, Tseng: I have learned more solutions and recording process from this activity. The most important thing for a team is teamwork, and we might not get the fruit without members’ assistance.
I Hsin, Chiang: When I joined the Cyberfair initially,
I even didn’t understand its definition and the goal of team for my lacking
pre-work. However, through teachers’ instructions, visiting relevant units, and
completing report step by step, I have understood what we did and what I could
do finally.
“Cyberfair” was not only an activity for me, and it also helped me to learn how to achieve the greatest efficiency in the shortest time, to learn from each other, and to be responsible for my own work. The most important thing I’ve learned was to keep my words and keep good time. We should finish and hand in homework within the estimated time assigned by teachers, and we shouldn’t hand in late but excuse ourselves by busy homework or being forgotten. Teachers assign work to students because of trust, so we shouldn’t keep them waiting or let them down. “Trust is like paper, once it is crumpled, it couldn’t recover to its original shape even we smoothen it. Moreover, I have been inspired that failure is inevitable, but it is of the same value as success. Only we experience the failure, do we understand the value of success. We couldn’t evade when facing difficulties and frustrations, but we should struggle in adversity. Being successful for one time would be enough, but the every failure before success is the cost of being successful. Chia Chen, Yao: I was naive and confused for
future, when I went to junior high school. I didn’t know what to do and what I could
do. Someone asked me to join Cyberfair in the summer, and I just followed what
he said, but I didn’t know if I were right or wrong. After I joined it, I have
complained, hated it, been scolded by teachers, and cried. However, I didn’t
talk or complain to my family because I was afraid that they might worry about
me. The worst thing was that I have never cried in front of classmates, but I said
“could I cry for a moment?” I didn’t know what I did wrongly at that time. However,
if time could fly back, I would make the same decision. I have taken down one
new page in my life for this experience. “To make yourselves, you should
experience frustrations, difficulties, and unwillingness. Thanks for every team
member, teachers, and the mentor who asked me to join Cyberfair. I wouldn’t
live aimlessly any more but prepare to accept new myself.
Chia Min, Chen: The most difficult part of this
work was to think how to do experiments, since we should consider many problems
in advance, such as the accuracy, external influence, and possibility. If we
still faced problems after the experiment, we should review them one by one to
find the faults out and discuss the reasons. Personal visiting was much easier
for me, and it included interviews and report making. However, it took much
time to make report, since we should revise again and again to make it
completed.
By joining Cyberfair, we could know the report
format, expend our horizon, and know better about our country. During the
process, I might feel troubled initially; however, with time past, I started to
feel that it is like a part of my life and got used to it. Thanks for teachers’
instructions, the cooperation with interviewees, and many people’s assistance.
Hsin
Chieh, Huang: During the process of air pollution experiment in this Cyberfair,
I typed the statistic carefully, and felt very nervous for fear of any mistakes.
From this work, I have learned the order of writing report and known how to make
report. I felt a sense of accomplishment after I finished it. However, I thought
that I made less contribution to this work, when I saw members making report seriously
to finish this work, but I only found duck farmers and did the experiments.
