To know better about our topic,
we spent half year interviewing different subjects and units, and there were
EPA air monitoring station, the former duck farmer (Mr. Lin Chin Hsing),
Worthies Corporation for outsourced dioxin inspection, and Taiwan Steel Union in Changhua
Coastal Industrial Park. Four interviewees were in different positions and perspectives,
and they helped us understand the causes of many things.
The monitoring station of EPA is the first defense line of controlling our environment by government. Thanks for Mr. Chen Ping Lin, who came from EPA in Taipei, to introduce every equipment and inspection ways to us explicitly. Mr. Lin Chin Hsing was a duck farmer, but he is a well-known owner of farm in local now; he narrated the ups and downs of duck breeding and his life experiences to us, and helped us portray the outline of early life. Worthies Corporation in Taichung explained the inspections of dioxin extraction, purification and analysis clearly, and it was eye-opening for us to enter this professional laboratory. Taiwan Steel Union in Changhua Coastal Industrial Park was regarded as a steelmaking plant and the source of toxic duck eggs; however, after our interviews, we found they were a part of environment recycling enterprise, and knew the unknown side of the incident at that time.
